Kid’s Learn to Quilt (ages 10-14)
Fridays 1:30-3:30 Oct 14, 21 & 28 – $30 per student for the 3 weeks
Kids must bring their machine, scissors & pins
Learn to Knit
Wed 6:30-8:30 6 weeks. Learn hat, mitts & socks

Enhance Your Quilting
This excellent quilting class will teach all the basics and more
Make any size quilt in class from your choice of colours/fabrics
Tuesday evenings, 7 weeks (21 hrs of instruction) 6-9pm
Starting Tues Oct 18th

Bargello
This class is for those with quilting experience
Wednesday afternoons 1-4pm – Starting Oct 19th running for 7 weeks

LEARN TO KNIT at Fabric Addict!

Classroom, Fabric Addict
$60.00 course instruction fee ($10 per registration donated to Harbour House Women’s Shelter).
Register and pay at Fabric Addict prior to Oct 19. Pay by cheque (payable to Sheila King), cash or Debit prior to course start date.
Materials (yarn and needles) to be purchased by student.
- 10% discount on supplies when purchased at Fabric Addict.
- Cost of projects will vary depending on the yarn that you choose, but expect to pay approximately $20 to $40 for the hat and mitts/scarf projects and $10 to $20 for the sock project.
- Sheila and Penny will show you some yarns that will make lovely items that you will be happy to wear or give as gifts when you are done!
- You will be using a 4.5 mm (US 7) 100 cm (40 inch) circular needle and worsted weight (#4) yarn for most of your projects. You may purchase these items during the first class.
Class Schedule:
Oct 19 – choosing yarn, cast on techniques, gauge swatches
Oct 26, Nov 2 – Easy hat (3 style options)
Nov 9, 16, 23 – Individual project:
Mitts or Sampler Scarf (to match hat if desired). Either of these projects is
recommended for NEW knitters.
OR
Classic Socks
Note: the socks will be made using a lighter weight yarn and smaller gauge double point needles that can be purchased during class time.
Final Notes:
- Handouts will be supplied to students. You may want to bring small sewing scissors, and a measuring tape or ruler.
- A tea kettle and a variety of tea will be available. Please bring your own cup!
